Awesome sequel to the original Fire Emblem!
This game is pure awesome! No more needs to be said.
The story centers around Alm, the grandson of the famed General Misen, who departs on a quest with a group of fellow fighters to aid the soldier Ruka in his struggle against General Tozeh, who has conquered his homeland. As in traditional Fire Emblem storylines, the group's adventure will take them to faraway lands, pit them in countless battles against bandits, soldiers and all sorts of enemies.
Fans of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones will feel pleased to know that many elements from this game were later implemented in the GBA installment, including the battle music which is the same as the Arena music in Sacred Stones, and the map system by which you can engage in random battles and level up as you will, opening a great wealth of character development.
This game came out towards the end of the Famicom's production life, which means it was very advanced for an 8-bit system. It is Fire Emblem at its roots, with many of the elements of later games and all the replay value and fun factor that characterises Fire Emblem titles. Definitely a must-have for fans of the series.
Now, if they'd only localise it and release it on the Virtual Console along with its predecessor.
