    Pokemon Soulsilver
    Pokemon Soulsilver
    Pre-Order Promotion:
2.5" tall Lugia figure handcrafted by the internationally renowned figure makers Kaiyodo of Japan
    Pokemon Soulsilver

    The Pokéwalker Included:
The Pokéwalker is a special pedometer that you carry with you that lets you take Pokémon fun wherever you go! You can transfer a Pokémon onto the Pokéwalker accessory using an infrared connection between the Pokéwalker and your Game Card. Then as you Stroll around with your Pokémon, it’ll earn Experience Points to gain a level. And you can even find items and special Pokémon while you’re on the go! The Pokéwalker is small enough that you can keep it in your pocket and take wherever you go. It also has a clip to hook it on your belt, and a hole for attaching a strap. It’s never been easier to take Pokémon with you!

Pokéwalker The Pokéwalker counts the number of steps you take as you walk around. The more steps you take, the more Watts you earn, which you can spend to find items and Pokémon!

When you transfer a Pokémon from your game into your Pokéwalker, you can select which Route you’d like to take your Pokémon along. Depending on which Route you take (such as in a grassland or by the sea), you’ll encounter different wild Pokémon and find remarkable items. When you first begin your journeys with the Pokéwalker, the list of Routes you can select from is short. But, the more you take a Stroll with your Pokémon, the more Routes will appear and the more Pokémon and items you’ll be able to get!

    Pre-Order Figurine:
Reserve your copy of Pokémon HeartGold Version and you'll receive a highly-detailed 2.25" tall Ho-Oh figure; reserve your copy of Pokémon SoulSilver Version and you'll receive an equally amazing 2.5" tall Lugia figure! Both figures have been handcrafted by the internationally renowned figure makers Kaiyodo of Japan. These figures are a legendary addition to any Pokémon fan's collection. Reserve your copy today.

    Catch Wild Pokémon!
After you’ve collected some Watts by going on a Stroll with your Pokémon, spend some of them to use the Poké Radar to catch wild Pokémon! If you see tall grass rustling after you use the Poké Radar, you know you’ve found a Pokémon. You have three options in the battle. You can attack, evade, or catch the wild Pokémon. By attacking, you can wear down the wild Pokémon to make it easier to catch. If you choose to evade when the wild Pokémon attacks, you’ll perform a counterattack! And when you think the timing is right, throw a Poké Ball to catch the Wild Pokémon. You can keep up to three caught Pokémon in your Pokéwalker at a time. If you catch a fourth Pokémon, you must choose one of them to set free.

    Find Items!
Use the Pokéwalker’s Dowsing Machine to help find items. Like the Poké Radar, you use the Watts you earned while walking to use the Dowsing Machine. Some of the items you can find are quite uncommon! When you use the Dowsing Machine, you’ll see six patches of tall grass, and one of them has a hidden item in it. You have only two chances to discover the item! Some of the items you can get are really hard to find and very valuable, so keep hunting!

    Time to Transfer!
Once you’ve found Pokémon and items using your Pokéwalker, you can send them back to your Pokémon game. You can only keep up to three Pokémon and three items in your Pokéwalker at a time, so be sure to send them to your game when your inventory fills up! Remember, if you catch a fourth Pokémon in your Pokéwalker, you’ll have to swap out one of the three Pokémon you’ve already caught.

    The Pokéwalker Journal
After your Pokémon has spent some time in your Pokéwalker, you can get a recap in the Pokéwalker Journal. The journal tells of all the places the Pokémon has been and the things it has found while traveling inside your Pokéwalker! For example, if you catch a particular Pokémon while out on a Stroll, your Pokéwalker Journal will make note of it. It will also keep track of how your Pokémon has behaved while inside your Pokéwalker!

    Pokéwalkers Communicate with Each Other!
The Pokéwalkers don’t communicate only with Game Cards—they can also communicate with each other! When you connect Pokéwalkers with a friend, you’ll both receive an item as a gift! You can connect two Pokéwalkers via infrared signal by pointing them at each other. When you do so, both players will receive an item! You can receive up to ten items by connecting to your friends, but you can get only one gift per person, per day.

    Another Trip, Another Pokemon....All Fun!5
We all know by now that Pokemon is a franchise that just refuses to go away. We have seen three incarnations of Pokemon JUST for the DS alone, and countless others before it. These two "new" Pokemon games are based on the Gameboy games Gold and Silver, which had many features such as a day/night cycle that stirred up our love for Pokemon all over again.

They're back, revamped, and better than ever for the Nintendo DS. The graphics tweak another notch from the DS's capabilities, making this one of the best Pokemon games to be seen to date. The Pokewalker is a nice addition for you to train your Pokemon "on the go", and can give you items in return. New paths open up on your Pokewalker as time goes by, and you can level up one Pokemon to your heart's content as you walk around. Simply gimmicky....simply amazing.

I pre ordered SoulSilver just to obtain the Lugia figurine, as it's highly detailed and a must for any Pokemon fan to own. For a Pokemaniac, you couldn't ask for more. Perhaps ordering the strategy guide, but otherwise, you will be in heaven. Gameplay is simply marvelous, as was the first three for the DS. There's some additional content, and it seems that there is a way to get many more Pokemon in this game, including all the legendaries (Sequine, Palkia, etc.). Simply marvelous.

However, there will be those that feel the "been there, done that" feeling will overshadow this title. If you've done Pearl, Diamond, and Platinum, you've been here before. You've SEEN it before. You know how many hours you've grinded in Pokemon..do you really want to do it all again? That would be the question you need to ask yourself before spending another $40.00 for essentially the same thing.

So, to conclude, it's Pokemon, it's a remake on two classics from yesteryear, and it's a great game. The added features in my opinion warranted another $40.00 out of my pocket. I am not disappointed for the purchase, even though I've "owned them all" at one point or another through my Pokemon career.

    Pluses:

+ Great game, great remake on two classics from the first days of Pokemon
+ Pokewalker is a fun accessory to have, and it's actually practical.
+ Graphics are up a notch, some new soundtracks are in the game
+ Many legendary Pokemon can be caught in this game

    Minuses:

    - Same old Pokemon game play. Nothing revolutionary here.
    - If you've played Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum, do you want to do it again?
    - Pokewalker could be considered a gimmick by some folks.

    Bottom Line:

For Pokefans, you should invest the money. Hopefully you pre ordered it and got the marvelous figurine that went with it. The Pokewalker is fun to play with and great to level up Pokemon you don't want to during the game itself. Casual game players might want to steer clear of this or play test it first at your local Gamestop to see if you like it, and Pokemon players who have played the other games might want to think twice before spending another $40.00 for something that is essentially, a carbon copy of Pearl, Diamond, and Platinum.

My 9 year old son says this is the best one yet5
My son, like many nine year old boys, is a huge fan of pokemon. The series, the movies, the toys, the music, the games, you name it. He can and will discuss at length the pros and cons of various team configurations. Really. For hours. But he's been pretty quiet since we got this game, because he is more interested in playing it than he is in talking about it. I got him a used gameboy color when he was really young, and he played silver, gold, and crystal before he was old enough to read very well. He was really bummed about not being able to transfer his GBC pokemon to GBA or DS, so he was really excited to be able to play those games over in a format that will allow him to keep his little friends.

He loves the pokewalker. It uses a wireless connection to store a pokemon that the player can then walk around with. The pokewalker is also a digital pedometer that makes the pokemon gain experience with every step, so the player actually can level up pokemon just by carrying them around. That's very cool and adds an element of realism that's really quite clever. The connection seems to be very reliable, too. No unexpected drop-outs or trouble getting it to work.

It also helps me get the kid outside. We can take Pikachu for a walk.

The included figure for this package is Lugia, and it's just gorgeous. The details are very fine - he almost looks "real." I'm very happy with the purchase.

    A remake of a classic game4
Even though this is a remake, we get many different changes from silver.

We get the nice old feeling of the silver version, with some nice upgrades. Its not as good-looking as say platinum is, but i think it works well because it caters to the old fans. Even though i've played this game and its remakes (silver, crystal and now soulsilver) i just cant get enough of it. I'm now 20, and i can safely say this is a good game for your child, as it teaches right from wrong and not to mention keeps them busy.

Now, to get the limited edition or not? Since you could only preorder it, and now the prices for it have skyrocketed, i say pass up on it and get the regular edition. Your only missing a little figurine, you still get the pokewalker (which is really cool and promotes exercise, much like the pocket pikachu/pokemon pikachu released all those years ago)

If you like the pokemon games, get it! You'll need this game to complete your collection.
