    Pokemon Soulsilver
    Pokemon Soulsilver
    Pre-Order Promotion:
2.5" tall Lugia figure handcrafted by the internationally renowned figure makers Kaiyodo of Japan
    Pokemon Soulsilver

    The Pokéwalker Included:
The Pokéwalker is a special pedometer that you carry with you that lets you take Pokémon fun wherever you go! You can transfer a Pokémon onto the Pokéwalker accessory using an infrared connection between the Pokéwalker and your Game Card. Then as you Stroll around with your Pokémon, it’ll earn Experience Points to gain a level. And you can even find items and special Pokémon while you’re on the go! The Pokéwalker is small enough that you can keep it in your pocket and take wherever you go. It also has a clip to hook it on your belt, and a hole for attaching a strap. It’s never been easier to take Pokémon with you!

Pokéwalker The Pokéwalker counts the number of steps you take as you walk around. The more steps you take, the more Watts you earn, which you can spend to find items and Pokémon!

When you transfer a Pokémon from your game into your Pokéwalker, you can select which Route you’d like to take your Pokémon along. Depending on which Route you take (such as in a grassland or by the sea), you’ll encounter different wild Pokémon and find remarkable items. When you first begin your journeys with the Pokéwalker, the list of Routes you can select from is short. But, the more you take a Stroll with your Pokémon, the more Routes will appear and the more Pokémon and items you’ll be able to get!

    Pre-Order Figurine:
Reserve your copy of Pokémon HeartGold Version and you'll receive a highly-detailed 2.25" tall Ho-Oh figure; reserve your copy of Pokémon SoulSilver Version and you'll receive an equally amazing 2.5" tall Lugia figure! Both figures have been handcrafted by the internationally renowned figure makers Kaiyodo of Japan. These figures are a legendary addition to any Pokémon fan's collection. Reserve your copy today.

    Catch Wild Pokémon!
After you’ve collected some Watts by going on a Stroll with your Pokémon, spend some of them to use the Poké Radar to catch wild Pokémon! If you see tall grass rustling after you use the Poké Radar, you know you’ve found a Pokémon. You have three options in the battle. You can attack, evade, or catch the wild Pokémon. By attacking, you can wear down the wild Pokémon to make it easier to catch. If you choose to evade when the wild Pokémon attacks, you’ll perform a counterattack! And when you think the timing is right, throw a Poké Ball to catch the Wild Pokémon. You can keep up to three caught Pokémon in your Pokéwalker at a time. If you catch a fourth Pokémon, you must choose one of them to set free.

    Find Items!
Use the Pokéwalker’s Dowsing Machine to help find items. Like the Poké Radar, you use the Watts you earned while walking to use the Dowsing Machine. Some of the items you can find are quite uncommon! When you use the Dowsing Machine, you’ll see six patches of tall grass, and one of them has a hidden item in it. You have only two chances to discover the item! Some of the items you can get are really hard to find and very valuable, so keep hunting!

    Time to Transfer!
Once you’ve found Pokémon and items using your Pokéwalker, you can send them back to your Pokémon game. You can only keep up to three Pokémon and three items in your Pokéwalker at a time, so be sure to send them to your game when your inventory fills up! Remember, if you catch a fourth Pokémon in your Pokéwalker, you’ll have to swap out one of the three Pokémon you’ve already caught.

    The Pokéwalker Journal
After your Pokémon has spent some time in your Pokéwalker, you can get a recap in the Pokéwalker Journal. The journal tells of all the places the Pokémon has been and the things it has found while traveling inside your Pokéwalker! For example, if you catch a particular Pokémon while out on a Stroll, your Pokéwalker Journal will make note of it. It will also keep track of how your Pokémon has behaved while inside your Pokéwalker!

    Pokéwalkers Communicate with Each Other!
The Pokéwalkers don’t communicate only with Game Cards—they can also communicate with each other! When you connect Pokéwalkers with a friend, you’ll both receive an item as a gift! You can connect two Pokéwalkers via infrared signal by pointing them at each other. When you do so, both players will receive an item! You can receive up to ten items by connecting to your friends, but you can get only one gift per person, per day.

    Another Trip, Another Pokemon....All Fun!5
We all know by now that Pokemon is a franchise that just refuses to go away. We have seen three incarnations of Pokemon JUST for the DS alone, and countless others before it. These two "new" Pokemon games are based on the Gameboy games Gold and Silver, which had many features such as a day/night cycle that stirred up our love for Pokemon all over again.

They're back, revamped, and better than ever for the Nintendo DS. The graphics tweak another notch from the DS's capabilities, making this one of the best Pokemon games to be seen to date. The Pokewalker is a nice addition for you to train your Pokemon "on the go", and can give you items in return. New paths open up on your Pokewalker as time goes by, and you can level up one Pokemon to your heart's content as you walk around. Simply gimmicky....simply amazing.

I pre ordered SoulSilver just to obtain the Lugia figurine, as it's highly detailed and a must for any Pokemon fan to own. For a Pokemaniac, you couldn't ask for more. Perhaps ordering the strategy guide, but otherwise, you will be in heaven. Gameplay is simply marvelous, as was the first three for the DS. There's some additional content, and it seems that there is a way to get many more Pokemon in this game, including all the legendaries (Sequine, Palkia, etc.). Simply marvelous.

However, there will be those that feel the "been there, done that" feeling will overshadow this title. If you've done Pearl, Diamond, and Platinum, you've been here before. You've SEEN it before. You know how many hours you've grinded in Pokemon..do you really want to do it all again? That would be the question you need to ask yourself before spending another $40.00 for essentially the same thing.

So, to conclude, it's Pokemon, it's a remake on two classics from yesteryear, and it's a great game. The added features in my opinion warranted another $40.00 out of my pocket. I am not disappointed for the purchase, even though I've "owned them all" at one point or another through my Pokemon career.

    Pluses:

+ Great game, great remake on two classics from the first days of Pokemon
+ Pokewalker is a fun accessory to have, and it's actually practical.
+ Graphics are up a notch, some new soundtracks are in the game
+ Many legendary Pokemon can be caught in this game

    Minuses:

    - Same old Pokemon game play. Nothing revolutionary here.
    - If you've played Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum, do you want to do it again?
    - Pokewalker could be considered a gimmick by some folks.

    Bottom Line:

For Pokefans, you should invest the money. Hopefully you pre ordered it and got the marvelous figurine that went with it. The Pokewalker is fun to play with and great to level up Pokemon you don't want to during the game itself. Casual game players might want to steer clear of this or play test it first at your local Gamestop to see if you like it, and Pokemon players who have played the other games might want to think twice before spending another $40.00 for something that is essentially, a carbon copy of Pearl, Diamond, and Platinum.

My 9 year old son says this is the best one yet5
My son, like many nine year old boys, is a huge fan of pokemon. The series, the movies, the toys, the music, the games, you name it. He can and will discuss at length the pros and cons of various team configurations. Really. For hours. But he's been pretty quiet since we got this game, because he is more interested in playing it than he is in talking about it. I got him a used gameboy color when he was really young, and he played silver, gold, and crystal before he was old enough to read very well. He was really bummed about not being able to transfer his GBC pokemon to GBA or DS, so he was really excited to be able to play those games over in a format that will allow him to keep his little friends.

He loves the pokewalker. It uses a wireless connection to store a pokemon that the player can then walk around with. The pokewalker is also a digital pedometer that makes the pokemon gain experience with every step, so the player actually can level up pokemon just by carrying them around. That's very cool and adds an element of realism that's really quite clever. The connection seems to be very reliable, too. No unexpected drop-outs or trouble getting it to work.

It also helps me get the kid outside. We can take Pikachu for a walk.

The included figure for this package is Lugia, and it's just gorgeous. The details are very fine - he almost looks "real." I'm very happy with the purchase.

    A remake of a classic game4
Even though this is a remake, we get many different changes from silver.

We get the nice old feeling of the silver version, with some nice upgrades. Its not as good-looking as say platinum is, but i think it works well because it caters to the old fans. Even though i've played this game and its remakes (silver, crystal and now soulsilver) i just cant get enough of it. I'm now 20, and i can safely say this is a good game for your child, as it teaches right from wrong and not to mention keeps them busy.

Now, to get the limited edition or not? Since you could only preorder it, and now the prices for it have skyrocketed, i say pass up on it and get the regular edition. Your only missing a little figurine, you still get the pokewalker (which is really cool and promotes exercise, much like the pocket pikachu/pokemon pikachu released all those years ago)

If you like the pokemon games, get it! You'll need this game to complete your collection.

Nintendo DS Lite Dual Folio Case5
Although this case it a little large, it really does hold everything. I have several games, my charger and the DS in the case. The only thing I wish was that the pockets were a little larger for the games because they are a little tight to get them in and I'm afraid to damage them.

    Very satisfied with the case5
It has two slots for you to put your DS, games, charger, etc.

It is slightly bulky, but I don't really mind. It protects the items well and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to protect their DS.

    an ADULT gamers dream case!!!5
I have this case for my own (ADULT OWNED) NDS Lite and I love it for several reasons. It allows me to carry all the necessities for a gaming session...all the games I presently own (16), collapsable headphones, an extra stylus and of course THE SYSTEM itself. The exterior is made of a rubberized, very leather-like (about 8 steps above pleather) material, as described in the listing--the zippers are "high-grade", very solid & sturdy. The binder reinforcements integrated into the exterior are very hard, which I suppose would insulate the system against shock if dropped. When closed & I have everything loaded within, the case dimensions measure: 7 inches side to side (as if looking at your NDS lite closed & horizontal) & 2.75 inches of depth. The one thing this case gives you is flexibility. This is what compelled me to offer a review after looking at the pictures and reading the other 2 reviews. I have mine loaded differently than the picture. In the thicker, deeper compartment is a mesh/lined pocket with a velcro closure where I have my extra stylus, my charger (if traveling) and 3 double game cases (made by INTEC) where I house 4 NDS game cartridges and 1 GBA cartridge (not the NDS Lite system as pictured). There is a zippered compartment attached with this where I store my collapsable headphones (and I could put my charger there also, but it's a little tight). Along the other 3 interior "walls" of the case are 6 mesh pockets (18 total), but as a previous reviewer mentioned, the sets of 3 pockets closest to the outside edges are smaller, making it a tighter fit for the NDS cartridges and I have torn 2 of these 9 pockets. In the thinner 2nd compartment, I have 8 game cartridges in the mesh wall pockets and this is where I house my system itself. (In the 1st compartment, I store 4 game cartridges in the mesh pockets along that one wall). I have even loaded 2 or 3 of the game manuals in either compartment without any problems zippering the case. I have tried 2 other types of cases (a smaller "Airform" type, which I take to & from work with one game loaded inside the game which I play on my lunch break) and I have given an aluminum type (mini-briefcase style) case to my niece to house her system, games, charger, earbuds, game manuals, etc., 'cause I found this to be too big and cumbersome to throw into my purse, car, overnight bag, etc. So as you can see, I've tried several types and wanted to pass along my descriptions on a great case.

    Very Cute Game and entertaining!5
This new Little Pet Shop game is super cute for girls expanding a variety of ages. The arcade portion contains really entertaining and cute games that help you earn Kibble coins to accessorize your pets. DS games are very hard to come by for my daughter since she is so young (4 years old). This game fits the bill for the youngest DS fan up to girls who are in the upper elementary grad level. LOL Who am I kidding...even I had fun with some of those arcade games. Some games include: a Plinko type game, Skee ball, Ring Toss, duck pick, and others. Oh and as a teacher I was pleased to see some sorting games, matching games, and sequence games....so there is a twist of educational value to the game as well.

    Fun but Lots of Reading3
I bought this game for my daughter that is in kindergarten and she loves to play it. The characters are very cute and the game does have a lot of things that my daughter can do with ease. However, she is just starting to learn to read and there is a TON!! of reading in this game. So I spend a lot of time reading things to her. Also some of the games you have to play to earn kibble coins were difficult at the easy stage even for me (a 32 year old).

I would recommend it to friends while making it clear that they need to plan to spend a lot of time playing this with their child if they can't read.

    Littlest Pet Shop Friends5
We purchased this nintendo ds game for my daughter as well as the one for the wii and she enjoys playing both of them. The first day she received the present she played the game all day and has played it every day since. My 5 year old son enjoys this game as much as his sister, it is easy to play for younger children as well as easy to understand.

    'Hip' & well-liked, but doesn't stay on when open4
My daughter loves littlest pet shop and really digs the stylus & cover. It's something 'cool' to have.
    Great:
Works w/ ds, ds lite & dsi
Stuffed cover does provide good protection on the outside
Pretty in pink (she got the beagle)
    Stylus is cool
When 'closed' the elastic strap that goes around the middle 'button' outside keeps the ds from falling out
    Do Overs:
The stylus fits in the case when in a close position behind the back of the ds, but it would be better if it had an elasticized band to keep it in place, too
The top of the ds stays in place w/ elasticized straps when in 'open' position, but the bottom has no elastic to stay in place so it falls out, so you just take the whole thing off while playing because it is easier to play w/ then

Great Game for Girls 4-9 Years Old4
My 4 year old loved this game.

Lisa loves clothes, makeup and helping her family. She is 1 of 5 kids and helps her parents, A LOT! Her mother asks her to shop, clean up after the babies, help put the triplets down for naps, cook and more. Her father has her help put furniture together. If your child doesn't read yet, like mine after some prompting, they will be able to play the game with zero assistance from you.

The best part of the game is the clothes and make-up. Like the real world, you need money for that and this game is no different. I set the parental control to the max amount of points for my daughter. One of the favorites has become florist, hamburger cook and police officer. They games are easy and fun. Plus they have given my daughter the confidence she needs to explore trying some of the other games that frustrated her in the past.

Since my little girl can't read she has to follow directions supplied by the game which means she has to listen well and follow directions. Not a bad thing since she is starting full time school this September.

I love watching her sit quietly and play Lovely Lisa. This is a great game for girls age 4-9.

My 6 year old loves this game!5
I got this for my daughter and she just loves it! Yeah, its not too imaginative and there are so many things that they could've improved on (haven't played the original, but I was expecting more). All in all, I think its a great title for young girls and parents can set the skill level and point values to change the game up a bit. So, according to my daughter, this game is worth it if you can get it around $20.

-You have to complete the game to unlock the extras
-Does very little to come into its own

The DS is perfect for tactical RPGs. It's been demonstrated to us several times. Luminous Arc is another example of a Tactical Strategy RPG that works well on the DS. While Luminous Arc really doesn't do anything different from your typical strategy RPG, it's still a pretty fun and engaging game on the whole. If you've never played a Tactical Strategy RPG before, then Luminous Arc is a brilliant introduction. If you have, you won't find anything here outside of the standard.

There's not much to Luminous Arc's storyline. 1000 years ago a war happened involving witches and the church. The witches lost the war. Now, there are rumors that the witches have returned, and soon the church of Luminous proves these rumors to be true. A band of people known as the Garden Children are dispatched to take care of things. However, the problem lies in the fact that the evilest of the witches has already grown very powerful. It's not much of a story really. There's some political intrigue here, but for the most part the storyline could've been better overall. It's presented through cutscenes in which you view your characters facing one another and talking (similar to Disgaea).

The animations are beautiful, and there's even some voice acting. The keyword there being "some". Its rather sad that there isn't always voice acting, but it's more about how the game utilizes it. In some cutscenes you'll be reading and then the next moment there will be voices. In another quick moment there won't be. The game is inconsistent with its voice overs. Most of them are quite good too. And while the writing won't win any awards, it's got a good sense of humor about it.

The game is played out very simple like. You move your characters around, have them attack other units and whatnot. If you've played Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, it's pretty much the same thing here. Attacking an enemy directly will mean less damage and a better chance of missing. Attacking from the side or from behind increase damage and your chances of landing a hit. Each character also has a set of skills or magic that they'll learn as they level up. Pretty basic stuff.

Part of what does make Luminous Arc a little interesting is the use of "Flash Drives," which are more or less your special attacks. Whenever you attack enemies you'll fill up a flash gauge. When its full you'll gain a flash point. Get three flash points and you'll be able to team up with other characters to devastate your enemies. Much like the rest of the game, it's simple stuff, pretty basic.

You can control the game either by using the stylus, or by using the D-Pad. The idea of using the stylus and touch screen only sounds like a fantastic idea (after all, it's perfect for a tactical RPG), but in Luminous Arc it's more trouble then it's worth. For starters, this is an isometric 2D map and on top of that, it uses the grid system. User error is just far too great when using the stylus and moving units around. Sometimes the angle of the map will cause you to select the wrong square. Thank goodness you can cancel any action before a character's turn is over. Moving around your units is not simple when using the stylus on a 2D isometric map, especially because you can't rotate the camera. There's a lot less stress in using the D-Pad. The stylus works, but battles go by faster with the D-Pad

Battles move at a surprisingly fast rate. Where as in most SRPGs it could take you close to half an hour to complete a battle, many of the battles in Luminous Arc can be done in less than ten minutes. After every battle you are also given the option to talk to a member of your team. For those who like character development, this gives you a chance to really get to know some of these characters. Much of it is optional, but doing this can improve friendships. As you become better friends with your allies they'll give you items. The better friends you are, the better the item.

If there was anything slowing Luminous Arc down, it would be its story. It's simplistic and predictable. It's also very linear. Aside from random Monster Encounters, there's really nothing you can do off the main path, and all the optional stuff can't be accessed until after you've completed the game at least once.

There's online multi-player in Luminous Arc. It isn't available from the get go, however.

On the visual side, I already talked a little about the animations, but the in game itself isn't bad looking. For the most part the landscapes and settings that you battle in are really good looking on an artistic level. Not a whole lot of 3D effects are brought out, but a lot of the anime inspired art is really good. The game is also really colorful. As far as how the game just looks, though, it doesn't look that different from a GBA game. In fact, you can easily mistaken it for one. So while a lot of the anime inspired art looks good and the landscapes look good for what they are, the DS is certainly capable of more than this.

Musically, Luminous Arc sounds absolutely brilliant. It's got a really good soundtrack with a lot of memorable tunes. The sound effects are also good and along those lines, the voice acting (when there is voice acting) is pretty good too. \

For the most part, Luminous Arc is a fun game. It may not do things that differently from your standard Tactical RPG, but it's still a fun game overall and it's pretty engaging. The story isn't the best, but it certainly isn't the worst either. If you're looking for some fun, Luminous Arc delivers it. If you're looking, however, for an SRPG that goes above and beyond, you won't find it with Luminous Arc.

Been here before, but nevertheless enjoyable4
Luminous Arc is yet another turn based strategy to hit the DS, and like a decent number before it, it's pretty good to boot. The story of Luminous Arc unfolds in a typical fantasy world with some typical fantasy characters, but it's the core gameplay that helps set it apart from the rest of the pack. The typical turn based gameplay gets a tweak thanks to being able to level-up during the battle instead of afterwards, which can greatly assist you and adds some depth to the otherwise tried and true gameplay. The overall storyline of Luminous Arc isn't really anything we haven't come across before (and in fact can come off as confusing), but the colorful cast of characters more than make up for it. Not to mention that the game also offers a lengthy (yet somewhat linear) quest with some extras to find once you play it again, so the replayability factor is nice as well. All in all, though Luminous Arc doesn't really bring much new to the table, it's unique charm and different take on the overall gameplay mechanics make it worth checking out nonetheless.

A well developed and engaging strategy RPG experience!5
Having been on the market for nearly three years now, the Nintendo DS has given us innovation, new types of games, and revitalizing old genres (like the point and click adventure game), all the while providing loads of fun. Surprisingly, though, one genre has been all but ignored on this little handheld: turn based strategy RPGs. Hoshigami Remix tried to fill that void, but it's essentially a port of an old Playstation title that's too complex and unrewarding for it to be enjoyable. So, is there anything that can really fill that itch? Fortunately, Atlus has answered the call and delivered "Luminous Arc", an original game that is quite the satisfying strategy RPG.

    Story:

The story of "Luminous Arc" can be summed up like this. Kids that are raised from the Church, known as the Garden Children, are called up to raise arms against the "evil" Witches, who plan to kill all the people and disobey the will of God. Alph, a young, courageous youth, becomes the leader of the group, and leads off the fight to condemn the Witches. Although the story initially sounds very cliché, the plots really starts to twist early on, and you eventually learn that things are not as black and white as they appear to be. You also start to question who is really the villains in this game: the Witches... or something else?!

    Design:

The main story mode is what you'll be spending the most time on in "Luminous Arc". All areas are marked on a map, and locations are marked with icons, and you move the cursor to where you want to go. The locations you visit vary up to battlefields, towns, forests, and the like. Sometimes, you may end up being forced into a battle while trying to get to your next destination. When you arrive at your destination, you either talk to some of your party, sometimes shop, or just advance to the next story battle. This simplicity with providing menus to help you along ensures that it's very difficult to get lost in this game.
During battle, you can choose up to eight party members at a time. To gain experience, you can either land an attack on an enemy, or do a status enhancer or heal on your party. Movement is on a grid based board, and the movement is determined by squares. The attack range is also determined by this same setup. The battle system is very similar to that of most strategy RPGs, but it does work well here. Leveling up, though, is more determined by getting up to 100 experience points rather than a random number. This system makes it easier to determine how many points you need to earn to level up. All status of individual characters is displayed on the top, while the bottom is for actions. This makes things easier to follow, and it leaves the bottom screen uncluttered.
The problem is that the touch screen controls are sometimes unresponsive, leaving you with some frustration if you use that method. You eventually decide to just use the no touch screen option in the options menu and just use the old d-pad. Although it's not much of a gripe, it would be good if the game had good touch screen controls. Either way, it's hardly even a problem for me.
After battles, you have an opportunity to talk with one of your party members. You choose a response. If it favors them, their trust increases. If you talk with them enough, depending on how full their heart is, you get a special cutscene. These special scenes can be rather amusing, to be honest, and adds some depth to the whole game. All the pieces together make for a great blend.
    Overall: 9.0

    Graphics:
Graphically, Luminous Arc is a decent looking game. The game is 2D completely, but the sprites animate quite well, and their movement helps convey some realism to the anime style characters. Cutscenes are told using still portraits that look quite good, with painted backgrounds. Their expressions change depending on the dialogue, witch helps a bit as well. Some attacks also have a bit of flash, as well. While not much here that could not have been done on lesser hardware, like the GBA, it's still quite impressive. There is also a full motion anime intro at the beginning, as well.
    Overall: 8.0

    Sound:
Audio wise, the game is a real treat. You get fully orchastraic music, a catchy Japanese pop intro, and voice acting. While the voice acting only really happens for about 20% of the whole game, when it does happen, it's performed well, for the most part. One character I don't like, though, is Nickolai. What is his deal?! Come on!! The sound effects are appropriate and do the job. So, overall, the audio part is great.
    Overall: 9.0

    Overall:
The game is quite an enjoyable experience. If you're looking for a great strategy RPG for your DS, don't hesitate to pick this one up. It's quite good.
