If you think that the only company making screen protectors for NDS would do it right...your horribliy wrong. This is the worst accessory you could buy for your NDS. You get two sticky covers that your supposed to put on the screens to protect them. The problem is, the protector themselves are full of dust and aren't clear. You can hardly see the screens when you put them on. Even worse, when you try to peel them off, this sticky goo gets stuck all over the screen. Save yourself a few bucks and wait for the licensed ones.

Well worth the price to save your screen from harm5
It's really critical to keep your DS screens protected - especially the touch screen. The clamshell design is nice - but not enough.

Pretty much any screen protector you are going to buy is going to involve a plastic film that you VERY carefully have to apply to the 2 screens. Yes, you have to clean your base screen very, very thoroughly first, so you don't trap any dirt or oil. Yes, you have to be very careful about applying the film, so that it goes on smoothly. Otherwise you have air pockets beneath the film. This is normal for ANY film you are going to apply, to any screen - whether it's a DS, a Palm Pilot, etc. So if you have problems cleaning screens or carefully applying films, this is good practice :)

Once the screen is applied, it works really well. The upper film is perfectly see-through, and doesn't have any affect at all on seeing the images. The lower film, on the touch screen, keeps the stylus from wrecking the touch screen. You still can't hammer at it - there is the pressure-sensitive pad beneath the screen that you don't want to wear out. But it will help protect that lower screen from scratches and marks.

The pack I got came with a soft cloth (like for eyeglasses) which helps keep lint off the screens - and with 2 extra stylusses. The original DS stylus is just a piece of plastic. These 2 replacements ones have a metal core and a plastic top and bottom. They claim the plastic bottom / tip is "softer" than the original, but I really find no difference at all. On the downside, the 'top' (i.e. the thing you pull at to get the stylus out of its DS sheath) isn't attached well. Of the 2 stylusses I got, one of them already had the top disattached right out of the package. Still, the other one is good and I do use it.

You definitely want to protect those DS screens from harm. If you end up scratching the films after months of use, then they did their job, protecting your real screens from that harm. Simply pull off the old screens, clean off the glue, and then put on new ones. It's far cheaper than buying a new DS, or playing with annoying scratches on your screens!

This product has gotten some seriously bad reviews. One guy even said the soft card scratched his screen? How, the soft card should never touch the bare screen. It's used as something to smooth out air bubbles. Anyway here is the Gods honest truth about this product. Everyone who owns a Nintendo DS worries about scratching the lower screen (if you scratch the upper screen you don't deserve a Nintendo DS). I used to wipe my screen off with a lens cloth every 5 minutes when I was playing and it got to be an inconvenience. While at a store that rhymes with "Chest Guy" I saw these Pelican brand Nintendo DS upper and lower screen protectors. I said to myself "aftermarket crap, I'll wait until Nintendo makes or liscenses their own". Quick backround on me I won't buy, play or touch any video game or accessory unless it is made and published by Nintendo. Well being that everytime I go to "Chest Guy" I have to buy something, I can never leave empty handed. I broke down and bought these. This is turning into a story more than a review so let me shorten this to the point. After I bought them I put on both the upper and lower screen protector with little difficulty (follow the directions). A month later I removed the upper screen protector to see if it was true about the glue that "ruins" your DS screens. There is some truth to this, the upper protector does leave a sticky residue on the black border of your upper screen. It takes a little muscle to remove it but it does come off. With this in mind, don't use the supplied upper screen protector... the upper screen is not a touch screen, how much protection does it need!? Now as for the lower screen protector, it didn't leave any residue at all. I would however recommend buying a new one every 2 months but thats because I'm anal. Apply the lower screen protector as described in the instructions. On a scale from 1 - 10 for difficulty applying this gets a 3. If you had trouble putting this on you probably have trouble putting on your pants in the morning. Provided there is no bubbles in between the protector and the screen your gameplay will not be affected. The supplied soft card is excellent for removing bubbles. I gave this product a 4 instead of a 5 because I only use the lower screen protector. This is an excellent product that should be owned by anyone who has a DS, if you don't have one already go buy one right now. Five dollars and about 5 minutes of your time is much less costly than One Hundered and Fifty dollars and the 3 seconds time it takes to scratch an unprotected touch screen.
